OPERATION 24: HOLIDAY EDITION
CALL FOR ARTISTS
ARE YOU AN ACTOR, DIRECTOR, AND/OR PLAYWRIGHT?!
The Assembly Theatre is proud to say OPERATION 24 IS BACK!
OPERATION 24 (originated by Unit 102) gathers 5 writers, 5 directors and a gaggle of actors who break into 5 groups each with the challenge of creating and performing a BRAND NEW 10-minute play in under 24 hours! 24 hours to write, rehearse and perform two (count 'em, two) performances in front of a live audience!

Sound like a spot of fun? Sound like a flurry of madness? Sound like a twelve alarm fire in the house of our Lord? Well, if it sounds like something you would like to be a part of, submit your application here:

All participants meet up the first evening, then the writers stay overnight to hammer out their scripts. Actors and directors will pull them into shape the next day and then perform them on the Wednesday evening.

On Tuesday night, we kick things off with an initial meet-and-greet and production teams are assembled through a randomized draw. Playwrights then work feverishly overnight to write the show, handing it off to their directors and actors first thing Wednesday morning. Each team then works to rehearse and stage it in front of a live studio audience that evening.

The Assembly Theatre is committed to addressing barriers both within the theatre industry, and within our own community of artists. We strongly encourage and will prioritize submissions from members of equity-seeking communities, including artists who are BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and/or Disability-identified.

NOTE: Unfortunately, The Assembly Theatre is not wheelchair accessible. There is one step to enter the building, and both our lobby and performance space are located down a set of stairs. As a small independent company, we’re committed to making future improvements and, eventually, moving into a fully accessible space.
